Nicholas Paul fell just short in his bid to progress to the quarter-final round of the Olympic Games men’s sprint at the National Velodrome here in Paris, France, yesterday.
Paul won his opening round sprint match-up against Japan’s Yuta Obara. Then, in the second round, he whipped another Japanese rider, Kaiya Ota. On realising his opponent had allowed him a big gap, Paul started his sprint towards the end of the first lap. Ota battled hard for some 550 metres, and did close a bit on Paul…but not enough, the Trinidad...
