JOINT leaders Harvard will keen to maintain its lead by taking full points when they meet Caribs in one of two mouth-watering TT Rugby Football Union (TTRFU) Championship Division matches, which take place at Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo, today.
Harvard and Caribs will open the double-header from 3 pm, following which Trinidad Northern, sitting just below Harvard on points-differential, will meet Royalians from 4.30 pm.
Both Harvard and Northern sit on nine points after both teams won their opening two matches, each with one bonus point. Harvard played Caribs already securing a narrow 17-15 win on July 30. That same day, Northern defeated Royalians 24-18 in their opening matches.
Caribs and Royalians, who sit third and fourth, respectively, played three matches. After two straight losses, Caribs rebounded two weeks ago when they met Royalians. The "Beer Boys" took a bonus point having scored four tries in a 30-10 victory.
Today's double-header will be used as a TTRFU fundraiser. There will be a cover charge of $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12 years. Food and drinks will be on sale. Coolers are allowed but glass bottles are prohibited.
