The 2018 RAN Men’s and Women’s Sevens will take place in Barbados over the weekend of September 22nd and 23rd, 2018. Holders Hill Polo ground in Holders Hill, St. James will be the venue for the annual international sevens tournament. For over a decade RAN has organized the sevens tournament to increase competition within the region and provide member unions a professional setting to showcase the sport’s rapid growth.

This year’s international competition will be a Men’s and Women’s qualifier for the 2019 Pan American Games, and 2019 Hong Kong Sevens. All members of RAN, including Associate Members and Regional Development Unions are expected to participate.

The Holders Hill Polo facility hosts international polo matches and will stage the Barbados Master’s Soccer tournament in May. At 280 m x 130 m the grounds have ample room for the two fields of play, warm-up pitches and team facilities. The grounds also house a clubhouse, ample parking and an elevated viewing section with bleachers.

“The Barbados Rugby Football Union is working with other sporting associations to raise the standard of tournament hosting in Barbados,” said George Nicholson, Tournament Coordinator. “We are extremely grateful to the Barbados Polo Club for their approval of our application to stage the 2018 RAN Sevens at the prestigious Holder’s Hill Polo ground.”

RAN Sevens was last held in Mexico City, Mexico, with the 2016 tournament taking place in Trinidad & Tobago.

Final participating teams and the full schedule will be released over the summer. All matches of the 2018 RAN Sevens tournament will be streamed live on RAN’s youtube channel. Fans can also follow updates using the hashtag #RAN7s on Facebook and Twitter.
